The feds have agreed not to make any references to the Mafia or use suggestive nicknames at the November trial of reputed Chicago mobster Rudy “The Chin” Fratto and co-defendant William Anthony Degironemo. The pair are charged with rigging a bid for a forklift contract for trade shows held at lakefront expo center McCormick Place the case also includes alleged members of Cleveland organized crime and gambling debts. Fratto is a reputed enforcer for the Chicago Mafia or “the Outfit“. But Joseph Duffy a lawyer for Degironemo said that his client should not be tainted in court with any kind of mob talk or association. Duffy said it is understood by everyone that Mr. Degironemo had no affiliation with organized crime and was simply as business man.

The feds agreed with the motions filed by Duffy on behalf of Degironemo and agreed that all references to organized crime will be struck out of the indictment. There will also be no references to organized crime , the Chicago Outfit, or the Cleveland Mafia or even suggestive nicknames used in front of the jury. The jury in the case will only be informed about a business man seeking a contract at McCormick Place said Duffy. Many around organized crime circles in Chicago find this to be an odd turn by the feds. One source said only in Chicago can one allegedly scheme with a reputed mobster and not be accused of mob associate.
