“Joseph ‘Mousie” Massimino”

Sources say the investigation was focused on a known South Philadelphia drug dealer named Williams “Billy” Andrews who they claim is a close associate of Massimino and has long been a close associate of the Philly mafia. In a motion filed in federal court alleges that Andrews organization dealt in the sale of prescription drugs and one of Andrews associates Robert Cohen lied to authorities to protect Massimino. Andrews was just released from prison in 2009 after a 12 year sentence for drug dealing. Authorities gained much of their information through wiretap conversations and a bug planted in Andrews Mercedes-Benz.

A source within start law enforcement says that the state investigation could be turned over to the federal authorities for prosecution and that any additional charges against Massimino would be added into his pending racketeering case. Massimino along with reputed Philly mob boss Joseph ‘Uncle Joe” Ligambi and other reputed Philly mobsters were rounded up in May on federal racketeering charges related to a mafia run loan sharking and gambling ring. Massimino has been labeled as a career criminal with a rap sheet of arrest going back more then 30 years.
